Refund Policy

This Refund Policy forms part of the Terms of Service of the Clan Ó Comáin membership platform, operated by Moohane LLC ("we", "us"). It explains when refunds are available, how to request one, and the timing for processing.

1. Initial cooling-off — fourteen days

You may cancel any new paid membership within fourteen (14) days of your initial purchase and receive a full refund of the amount paid, provided that:

• You have not yet downloaded or made substantial use of digital benefits delivered as part of the membership (for example, the digital membership certificate); and
• If a physical certificate or other physical benefit has been dispatched, the cost of that item and its postage may be deducted from the refund.

To exercise this right, write to clan@ocomain.org within the 14-day window with the email address used at sign-up and the date of purchase. We will confirm receipt and process the refund to the original payment method within ten (10) business days.

2. Annual renewals

Annual memberships renew automatically. To avoid the renewal charge, cancel via your member dashboard or write to us at any point before the renewal date. Once a renewal has been processed, refunds are not given as a matter of course but may be granted at our discretion within thirty (30) days of charge in cases of clear administrative error or where the renewal was contrary to a prior cancellation request.

3. Life memberships

Life memberships are a single one-off contribution to the clan revival project. Beyond the initial 14-day cooling-off period in section 1, life memberships are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer-protection law.

4. Gift memberships

The purchaser of a gift membership may cancel and obtain a full refund within fourteen (14) days of purchase, provided the gift has not yet been claimed and activated by the recipient. Once a recipient has activated the gift, the membership belongs to them and may not be unilaterally cancelled or refunded by the original purchaser.

5. Service failure

If a defined material benefit of your membership is not delivered (for example, a paid certificate is not issued, or a paid event is cancelled by us with no reasonable substitute offered), we will provide a prorated refund or an equivalent benefit at your election. Write to us setting out the issue and we will respond within ten (10) business days.

6. Termination by us

If we terminate your membership for material breach of the Terms of Service, no refund is due. If we terminate or suspend your membership for our own operational reasons unconnected to your conduct, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.

7. Method and timing of refunds

Approved refunds are processed via Stripe to the original payment method. The funds typically appear on your statement within five to ten (5–10) business days, though some banks may take longer. We do not refund Stripe processing fees on amounts already paid out and reclaimed; the refund is of the gross amount you paid.

8. Statutory rights

If you are a consumer ordinarily resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection rules give you additional rights (such as a longer cooling-off period or a separate statutory right of withdrawal), those rights are not affected by this Policy and apply in addition to the terms above.
